Cheap China Knives
Does it look cheap to give guests peanut butter and jelly sandwiches?
I invited some guests over for dinner (my future mother and father in law) and I don’t cook. I am going to give them what I eat all the time, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I will pull out the fine china and put the slices of bread on a big platter and the peanut butter and jelly I take out of the jars and put into the china serving bowls. From my silverware I will pull out the butter knives. So does that sound like a good dinner arrangement?
I didn’t know there was a requirement that you needed to know how to cook in order to own china, they were given to me as a present one year for Christmas.
This question must be a big joke! Why would someone who DOES NOT COOK have fine china, big platters and china serving bowls in their home ? Why would someone who DOES NOT COOK invite guests over for dinner?Why would someone who DOES NOT COOK invite their future in-laws over just to insult them and make them feel very uncomfortable **EDIT **having fine china is NOT a requirement I am sure it was given with the best intentions and wonderful warm thoughts of you and your future husband sitting down together and at times with guests, to many wonderful home cooked meals.with many fond memories,But going thru all the trouble of setting a nice table and putting out all your good china then placing a jar of peanut butter & jar of jelly along with some bread as the complete meal and having your future in laws make their own cold P&B sandwiches ..is not only laughable but also extremely rude and shocking they will certainly remember this so called”dinner” it may not be remembered fondly or in a good .This would be a great skit for Saturday Night live!! In the frozen section of every grocery store they have appetizers, lasagana meatballs fried chicken, garlic bread the selection is endless, you bring it home,unwrap follow the directions and heat it up then put on one of your china platters,also grocery stores have delis where you can buy salads etc you take home and dump in your china bowls. I am only trying to help I am not trying to hurt,in this case honesty and decent suggestions are the best policy I do not mean to hurt your feelings If I .I apoligize,.
