What Kitchen Knives To Buy
What brand kitchen knives do you own? What brand do you recommend?
I am looking to replace my kitchen knife set. Not sure what to buy. My budget is no more than $200, but feel free to brag about your $1000 professional set if you would like. I would like to know why such expensive set are so much better.
I have a mixed bag of several knives that I purchased one at a time. My best knives are Sabatier and Henkel four star. They are similar in price and quality. They are high carbon stainless with a full tang (whatever brand you get, make sure they are high carbon stainless with a full tang).
I have an 8 inch and a 6 inch chef’s knife. I have a boning knife and a filet knife. I have 3 and 4 inch paring knives. I have a 6 inch santoku knife (basically Japanese style chefs knife). I also have a carving knife.
The most important knives to me are the 6 inch chef, 4 inch paring and boning.
